What is DIG?

Durham Inner-City Gardeners

DIG is a youth-driven, urban farming and leadership development program. This program is available to currently enrolled high school students. The DIG crew work together to accomplish meaningful work that impacts their community, such as maintaining the garden, managing the market garden and farm stand, participating in workshops, cooking healthy meals for one another, increasing food access in their neighborhoods, and engaging in leadership and team building activities.

  • "The best parts were just being together, everyone feeling comfortable in their environment, making sure everyone gets the experience to learn something and carry it forward in life."
